Yamaha Unveiled a Dual Retro-Inspired Project with XS650 and XSR700

Fast and Faster – in such a way one could characterize this perfect mix of bold styling and modern engineering. Yamaha Yard added a pair of customized builds to its Sports Heritage lineup teaming up with Greg Hageman, a custom builder from Iowa. As a result, these are breathtaking twins, XS650 and XSR700, dubbed ‘Fast Father & Faster Son’. How cool is that!

The main idea of production concept – ‘Inspired by the past, built for the future’, as you see, so the design team plays with iconic Yamaha styling cues while improving the performance and handling, and the result, a modern retro bike, is definitely stunning. For the XS650, Hageman used a custom tuck-and-roll seat, a modified SR500-sourced rear swingarm, and a R6-based conventional fork. The cockpit has been also upgraded with a GPS speedometer, keeping the spirit of classic Yamaha badge. For the Faster Son, Hageman made the main powertrain upgrade with the Akropovic exhaust system. The main look plays with retro-styled fork gaiters and lower handlebars along with a rear rack and a tuck-and-roll seat. Got the look, for certain.
